Mr. Rob, your recent comments re: property taxes here in the Town of Dedham have certainly struckRead Morea chord with me. Seems that we might be in the minority. For years this town has discussed the need for a senior center and new police and fire stations. As candidate Dan O'Neill mentioned his campaign, tax rates have risen precipitously in recent years and still those needs have yet to be addressed. With the understanding that resources are indeed limited, it would seem that what our priorities are becomes the central question. One thing is for certain. If property taxes in Dedham continue as they have recently, the question of a senior center might become moot - senior citizens on fixed incomes won't be able to afford to live here.

If they try any funny stuff with forcing kids or getting in trouble or singled out for notRead Moreparticipa ting then there should be hell to pay. There is no room for this in public schools. They cry if you say Christmas but want this stuff in schools liberals are going to kill this country they are the biggest waste if space. If they want to do this crap have it on a Saturday .

Steve, it's kids not saying anything. And to your point about Christmas, if kids want to take a vow Read Moreof silence during non-instructional time in solidarity with those whose views on Christianity have been marginalized, they are more than welcome to do so.

People have rights. Personally I accept people for who they are. I work in a diverse workplace. WeRead Mored o a yearly training. Instead of certain groups running something like this why not have a standard one day education to go along with the anti bullying policy. People should be allowed to be who they want to be without religion and lifestyles forced upon them. On a personal note though I don't think anyone should have a stroke about saying Merry Christmas. So I guess both your views are valid.

Mr. LaFond, This great city has no shortage of heroes, certainly, but there is a shortage of fires. Read MoreSome studies show a 40+% drop in the last 15 years. These bills would create rules for everyone in order to accommodate the exceptions. (i.e. many, many houses and significantly few fires)

Hey Eric, I think you have to call DPW to bring that to their attention. Or you could use theRead MoreMyG ov App to submit a ticket. http://dedham-ma.gov/index.cfm?pid=11770

Aren't you gentlemen a little bit of the subject ? Dedham taxes are way too high. You are taxingRead Morepeo ple out of Dedham. How many overides are currently burdening the homeowner ? As a senior citizen I can state that none of my senior neighbors/friends are interested in a senior center. Let's get together and insist that our tax dollars be spent within a budget. (I have to live with one !)

Hi Knowlton our friend thinks by calling people out and wanting reform I'm doing something wrong.Read MoreI want to get on the board to put a stop to this. We are taxing people out if town and it's not right. I'd appreciate one of your votes. I am determined if elected we aren't going up again next year. I'll do whatever it takes to make that reality.

If we know someone is actively interviewing somewhere else (specifically someone who has been hereRead Morel ess than a year), that means they are no longer interested in the position they have and the town should terminate them. They are obviously not focusing on the job at hand. Dedham should not be a consolation prize. Or a stepping stone. You accept a job, you should put at least a years time in.

Anyone who is hired as a leader of any of the town depts should be required to live in the town.Read MoreYou don't need to live her to be hired, but after you are you should be required to move here with 6 months. I'm tired of us hiring someone who leaves a short time later or is rumored to be looking elsewhere and the excuse is always the commute time from where ever they live. You want to work here in a leadership position, you live here.

Curious, where does someone go to see the jobs that are now avaialble? If you are a Dedham resident Read Morethis might seem like a great opportunity.
