Half Day Thursday Clay Class for Kids – January 31st

Looking for a fun class for your child on the upcoming half day from school

The Dedham Square Artist Guild has teamed up with the Dedham Community House to offer art classes. I’m offering one to kids this coming Thursday, January 31st from 1-2:30, and one to adults in February.

Half Day Thursday Clay Class for Kids (first grade and older) will be a “Valentine’s Day” themed class. I’ll teach the young artists how to create a pinch pot that they can decorate with hearts for make into a heart shaped bowl. There will be an opportunity to make a flat tile so that students can play with surface elements like stamping and adding clay elements. Using non-toxic red and white paint, students will further decorate their work. I will clear coat these works of art and fire them in a kiln (at Potters Place, my cooperative studio in Walpole).

There will be supplies available for making Valentine’s Day cards to take home that day. Finished artwork will be available toward the end of February at the Guild Gallery on High Street in Dedham.
