"Mad Men”-themed Gala Marks End to Dedham Reads Together Town-wide Read Program Featuring ‘60’s Classic "The Right Stuff" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
Embrace your inner Mad Man, James Bond, Jackie O, or Audrey Hepburn and spend a night reliving the style, fashion, and celebrity socializing of the Breakfast at Tiffany's era. Local non-profit Dedham Library Innovation Team (DLIT), is marking the end to its “Dedham Reads Together 2013” program this spring with a 60’s themed bash at Dedham’s posh Endicott Estate on Friday night from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The fundraiser event is being sponsored by Needham Bank. The $50 ticket donation, which goes to support Dedham’s public and school libraries, includes an open bar featuring signature cocktails, live music, photos on the red carpet, free food supplied by Whole Foods, Isabella’s Restaurant, and Summer Shack, as well as host of raffle …

"The McCarthys" will be based on Gallivan’s life as the only gay son of a sports-loving Irish-Catholic family.
Boston.com is reporting that CBS recently picked up a pilot from Dedham High School grad Brian Gallivan. He is also the writer for “Happy Endings." "The show will be called "The McCarthys” and will be a single-camera comedy based on Gallivan’s life as the only gay son of a sports-loving Irish-Catholic family in Boston," the website reported. Gallivan also hosts the viral video series "Sassy Gay Friend" on You Tube.

Alex Fofonoff was born and raised in Dedham and is working on a film that takes place during the American Civil War.
Majoring in the arts can prove to be very challenging. Especially since there are limited opportunities within the field. A person has to show perseverance and love for the subject in order to see the fruition of goals. Alex Fofonoff was born and raised in Dedham, has always wanted to work in film and is starting to see his plans come into fruition. Fofonoff is now a senior at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and was granted the allotment for his senior thesis class. Out of the 24 students enrolled, only 12 receive this opportunity. Through the allotment students receive insurance, equipment and a small sum of money for their film project. Rex Trailer, a Boston TV icon who had been recovering from pneumonia recently, died on Jan. 9, according to his website. “Rex Trailer left this earth peacefully last night surrounded in love and song by his family. Rex had been in Florida for the holidays when he became ill into the New Year. While everyone’s prayers and support have been of great comfort to Rex, he decided it was time to go home. Rex and family thank all of you and love you,” a statement on his website reads. Trailer hosted “Boomtown” a children’s show with a western theme on WBZ-TV from 1956-1974, according to WBZ-TV. Dedham Public Art Project will conclude the 2012 project that placed rabbit sculptures throughout town with a celebration on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. at First Church and Parish of Dedham. For the first time ever, all fifteen rabbits will be on display in one location, providing the community an opportunity to photograph the rabbits and say goodbye, meet several of the artists, and follow bidding in the final hours of the online auction (biddingforgood.com/dedhamshines).
