Visions for Vacancies in Dedham: MovieStop
A weekly look at one vacant store front in the community.
Our new Visions for Vacancies feature begins this week, a spot where you can have your say and sound off on what a vacant business property should become before plans are drawn.
Each week Dedham Patch will highlight a vacant building or structure in the Dedham community.
This week we turn to the Dedham Mall area and the former home of MovieStop, which closed earlier this year.
But what should replace the retail space? There are already plenty of food establishments - Panda Express, Chipotle and Five Guys Burgers - so what type of business would complement and fit well at the Dedham Mall area?
It's a very high-traffic location with plenty of people from Boston neighborhoods and Dedham grocery shopping, stopping for coffee at Starbucks and heading to Lowe's.
So, if you had your way - ignoring zoning and planning restrictions - what would you want to go into the former MovieStop? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

OMG I'm going to cry. I had no idea it closed--I feel like I was just there. I'm PISSED. I totally could have stocked up. Now my only choice for movies is Best Buy? Um, no thanks.
