The Dedham High School girl's soccer coaching staff entered Wednesday's affair with Newton North knowing the Tigers' passing game has led them to near the top of the Bay State League.

Nine minutes into the contest, the Marauders had a first-hand look as Newton North (9-1-2, 8-1-2) executed a near-perfect give-and-go down the left sideline that set-up a goal by Holly Szafran, the team's leading scorer. Szafran one-timed the ball into the upper left corner with an assist from Shannon Fitzgerald. 

Dedham (10-3-2, 6-3-2) outshot the Tigers, but couldn't get anything past goalie Maddie Bledsoe.

The Marauders will play rival Norwood Saturday evening at Dedham High School's new turf field.
