UPDATED: Suspicious Package in Manor Poses 'No Threat'

Police and fire have cleared the scene.

and the state bomb squad investigated a suspicious blue package Monday afternoon on Sprague Street in Dedham.

Police Chief Michael d'Entremont told Dedham Patch that the package didn't pose a threat.

There were nails, bolts, and a wooden box inside of the blue bag.

Authorities were encamped in the back of for nearly two hours.

A state bomb squad used a remote controlled robot to dump the contents of the bag out onto the street. Once authorities didn't believe the materials posed a danger, three investigators went down to collect the items inside the bag.

Police closed off Sprague Street from the bridge that crosses over the train tracks in Hyde Park to Turner Road. Several streets in the Manor Neighborhood were also closed off.

Authorities didn't release any other information at the scene, but Dedham Patch will update once more information becomes available.
