POLL: Support for a New Police Station
Town officials are clamoring for a new police station, but what say you?
A town committee that oversees construction of new town-owned buildings has put a new Dedham Police station at the top of its list - and the chief agrees that a new building is necessary.
At Thursday's Board of Selectmen meeting, several members called a new station the town's top priority, and a study by an outside group also recommended a new facility.
But what do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Let's look at a combined police, fire and town hall. Since, the town has purchased the Cheeky Diva building that area seems to be the logical place to start to build a new campus.

The Dedham police definitely need a new facility. The conditions they have to work in are appalling. These folks are putting it out there everyday to keep our town safe and, in return, they have to work in such hazardous conditions. There are safety and space issues, no place to eat, inadequate facilities for the women officers, and the place is literally falling apart. Dedham should wholeheartedly support a new, safe facility for the Dedham police.

They definitely should have additional space. I would nominate the NSTAR building next door, where they park the special Dedham police NSTAR truck. The ONLY time I see them putting out an effort is when they are staring at a hole, with coffee and cell phone in hand, at an NSTAR detail.
