Politicians Comment - Or are Not Allowed to Comment About bin Laden Death
Congressman Lynch offers statement about 9/11 mastermind being killed, while state Sen. Rush prohibited from comment.
Due to his active duty in the Naval Reserves, state Sen. Michael Rush was told that he is not allowed to comment about the death of Osama bin Laden.
Rush is currently overseas in the Middle East and passed along word that he hopes to have a column about his life overseas for Memorial Day, said Rush's Chief of Staff John Regan.
Congressman Stephen Lynch was able to comment, and released the following statement in regards to the death of Osama bin Laden.
"A mass murderer has been brought to justice and a threat to innocent American civilians has been eliminated. Our thanks and appreciation go out to the Navy Seals, our intelligence community and our brave men and women in uniform who once again have given us great reason to be proud of their courageous service. While the war on terror continues, hopefully, this will provide some measure of closure and peace for the 9/11 families."
