Police Log: Coyote on the Loose in Oakdale, Kids on School Roof

The following is an excerpt from the Dedham Police Department log from July 15-16. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account.
July 15
- At 7:23 a.m., Dedham Police received a call that a coyote attacked two house cats on Oakdale Avenue. Police responded and alerted canine control. This is the second reported coyote attack on Oakdale Avenue this week. The coyote was then seen on Shiretown Road Thursday afternoon, but fled the area before police arrived.
- At 8:27 p.m., a caller reported kids on the roof of Riverdale Elementary School, but they were gone when police arrived.
- At 8:38 p.m., police issued a summons to two men for allegedly shoplifting from Stop and Shop on Providence Highway.
July 16
- At 1:14 a.m., a taxi driver parked on Station Circle, alerted police that a man jumped out of the bushes and looked to be carrying a weapon. The man then fled in an unknown direction, according to police.
