Why target football? They lead the way in concussion research. Which is great, however Bike riding, skateboarding, skiing and other individual activities have many concussions due to the high riskignoring the wearing of protective gear and no adult supervision as well as no on the site medical personel. High school team athletics have great coaching, medical personel and all parents and participants must take The MIAA, on line concussion exam.

Robert, the seminar that I wrote about was sponsored by Wilmington Pop Warner. I completely agree that ALL parents and students need to be educated about the dangers of concussion and head trauma. While Pop Warner did invite all local athletes to attend it would be wonderful if more organizations (sports and otherwise)followed Pop Warner's lead and worked to educate young people and their parents. Feel free to email me here at PATCH and I would be happy to provide you with contact information for Dan Stewart who was the presenter. He does a wonderful job and is truly committed to the cause.
