Not Fast Food, but Real Food Fast

Local b.good puts a new, healthier twist on typical fast food.

Tired of all the typical fast food joints? Stop by b.good at Legacy Place in Dedham for an entirely new take on fast food.

Unlike traditional fast food joints that tend to cater to those looking for the cheapest options available and neglect the quality of the ingredients they use in their food, b.good uses all natural ingredients in everything they make, the staff says.

"For example, our beef is all natural. All the cows are grass-fed. Everything we use is all natural and is made every day," says Jardel Rodrigues, manager and head chef at b.good.

Originally from Brazil, Rodrigues has always had a passion for cooking, especially Brazilian food. Working at b.good was his first experience cooking American food.

"Here I used to be a truck driver and used to deliver produce for this company. Then they asked me if I wanted to work here and cook," says Rodrigues.

Aside from the all-natural aspect, there's plenty of other things that make the b.good experience unique.

"We don't treat people like customers. We treat them as guests," says Rodrigues.

Something else you'll notice is that they call customers by their names, not by a number, when their food is ready. Rodrigues also says that all the employee's enjoy their job and enjoy working together which creates that friendly atmosphere to interact with customers and get to know them better.

The food they offer is typical fast food items like burgers, chicken sandwiches and French fries, but all of their sandwiches can be prepared in a variety of different ways. They also offer turkey and veggie burgers, which few other fast food places don't offer as an alternative to beef.

B.good tries to keep everything fresh by using locally made products for their food, such as locally grown potatoes for French fries and locally made ice cream for milkshakes.

Six years old now as a Boston-based company, b.good has opened seven locations in the greater Boston area, and they do have plans to expand.

"That's going to happen next year or a year after, but we're already looking [for a place to expand]," says Rodrigues.

For now, b.good serves up a healthy, fresh - and quick - choice at Legacy Place.
