Letter to the Editor: Chief Thanks All Who Supported Mass Chiefs/Jimmy Fund Canister Collection Program
Funds were collected through canisters placed at local businesses throughout town.
Each year, the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association participates in multiple events to support the Jimmy Fund. One of these events is the Mass Chiefs/Jimmy Fund Canister Collection Program. Through this program, collection canisters are placed on counters in businesses state wide to collect donations for the Jimmy Fund.
In Dedham this year, canisters were placed at the Dedham Community Theatre, Tedeschi’s Food Shop, Terry’s Market, Express Mini Market, Anthony’s Beer and Wine, Hess Express, Mimi’s News, Central Cleaners, Gilberts Wine and Spirits and Plaza Liquor Mart. Through the generosity of these businesses and their patrons, $377.93 was collected and sent to the Jimmy Fund.
On behalf of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association and the Dedham Police Department, I would like to thank all those businesses and their patrons who supported the Mass Chiefs/Jimmy Fund Canister Collection Program. Special thanks to Dedham Savings for counting all the collected coins.
