UPDATED: Pop Warner Teams Receive Honors at Selectmen Meeting

Welcome to "About Town," a column that will keep you up to the minute with what's what, who's who and what the town's talking about. Check in often, because we will be updating often. And if you see or hear something we could use here, let us know.

A couple dozen youngsters received recognition and awards last night at the Board of Selectmen meeting for successful Pop Warner seasons.

The town's "A" and "D" teams each reach the Hockomock League Super Bowl in the fall.

The "D" team, led by coach and Town Clerk Paul Munchbach, went undefeated and unscored upon until the Super Bowl game against Foxborough.

Congratulations to both squads and good luck as you climb the ranks of Dedham football.

Happy For Snow Day

Whether it be the lack of homework that now doesn’t have to be done or the jump start of the weekend, with no school tomorrow, many students are excited.

Allison Staton hopes that kids remember these days off when they are in school in July, or whenever they finally get out with all these snow days.

Well with no school tomorrow, put those kids to work, because school is now not an excuse.

American Idol Fever

It seems that there are a lot of people watching American Idol these days.

The entire Castle family makes the show a family event. They all get their treats for the show sit back and check out the talent. They love it for the talent as well as its comedic tendencies, along with just the family time they get to spend together.

With everyone’s busy schedule, it is nice to be able to hang out together.

All Done With Winter

As the winter season goes on, I believe we are all getting done with the large quantity of snow we have been receiving.

We will be getting another 7 to 10 inches today and I know we are all dreading where we are going to put it.

“There is no place to put it, I don’t know what we’re going to do,” said Jonathan Laporte.

“We have already reached our average snowfall for the season,” said Laura Hamaty.

I know we are all hoping it misses us and that the meterologists are wrong, but I hope we are all prepared.
