Five Things You Need to Know: July 18

Rotary Club, stories and snacks at Whole Foods, if you can believe it; a Christmas-themed event at the Library and another Endicott Concert.

 

 

Today's Weather: Another hot day with highs of 90. Heat could break as there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms. Temperatures will drop at night to 66 according to the National Weather Service.

1. Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary Club will have their weekly meeting this morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn on 55 Ariadne Rd. For the latest from the club including a video on their clean water project click here.

2. There will be Stories and Snacks today at Whole Foods at Legacy Place. Pop by from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. for snacks and nutrition information.

3. It's Christmas in July. Visit the Library tonight at 7 p.m. for Chilling in July, an event to beat the heat centered around making Christmas ornaments and holiday wreaths.

4. There will be another Endicott Concert tonight at 7 p.m. at the Endicott Estate on 656 East St. Tonight's show will feature the band Island Fantasia. Sponsored by Blue Hills Bank.

5. Today in History: It was today in 64 AD when a great fire began that burned much of Rome to cinders. Emperor Nero blamed the fire on Christians and began his infamous persecution of the religion soon after.
