DMS Runs 6th TREK Program for 100 Students

The three-week program serves as an enrichment program with emphasis on technology.

For the sixth consecutive year, the and principal Debra Gately ran its TREK (Technology, Recreation, Enrichment, Knowledge) Program.

Headed by coordinator Cathy Oravetz - the Dedham's technology integrator, this three-week program is offered to 100 students attending the middle school in grades six to eight.

The academic curriculum of math, reading, creative writing and science is combined with a daily recreation segment that includes basketball, soccer, dodgeball and other physical activities.

Along with Cathy Oravetz, the staff includes teachers Karen Jones, Susan Lyons, Dan King, Rebecca Huff, Carolynne Downes and several student aides.
