Dedham Square Construction Update, Sept. 24
Here's this week's update on the Dedham Square Project.
According to the contractors, the reconstruction of the sidewalk on the northerly side of High Street, from Washington Street to Court Street is scheduled to begin today. The sidewalk will be closed for up to two weeks, and eight on-street parking spots will be unavailable. However, temporary access ways will be provided for local businesses and residential buildings.
Also, the reconstruction of the sidewalk on the northerly side of High Street, from Eastern Avenue (Ron’s Ice Cream) to Washington Street (Wardle’s Pharmacy) will continue this week. The sidewalk will be closed for up to one week, and seven on-street parking spaces will be unavailable.
According to contractors, the reconstruction of the Keystone Parking Lot retaining wall is scheduled to continue this week. Contractors will work on the construction of the new concrete retaining wall, and back-filling the retaining wall on the parking lot side to construct the remainder of the Keystone Parking Lot.
Close to 250 feet of sidewalk adjacent to the retaining wall, from Eastern Avenue to the Route 1 bridge overpass, will be closed for four to eight weeks.
The existing five parking spaces near the easterly half of the retaining wall will be unavailable for approximately three to four weeks during the construction of the concrete retaining wall.
