Dedham Police Logs: When Road Rage Gets the Best of You
This is a story that was in the Dedham Police Logs for August 6-August 13.
On August 8 at approximately 4:45 p.m. a woman ran into the police station. She was explaining how a man was assaulting a woman at the traffic light in Dedham Square. Two officers approached the scene.
According to the witness, she was just sitting at a red light when she noticed the man who was in front of her get out of his car, walk up to the women in a car in front of him, and began yelling at the driver while reaching inside.
The two officers approached them and started questioning. The female driver reported that she had no idea who the man was. But she noticed him tailgating, and yelling out of his window at her.
But when she stopped at the traffic light, that's when he got out of his car and started yelling and pointing his finger at her. But he never touched her.
When officers spoke with the male driver, he said that he was driving down Washington Street when all of a sudden he was cut off and almost drove onto a sidwalk, that's when he decided to follow the driver.
It was immeditely determined that the whole incident was caused by road rage. After speaking with both drivers, they were sent their separate ways.

I know that there are drivers out there that do suck and drive badly. I used to get mad. I've given up on it. You have to take the get'em next time approach and let it go. I'd rather go home alive then end up on the side of the road in a wreck dead any day. If someone is really out of hand I'll write the plate down and report it. It's just a safer way to be.
