Dedham Police Logs: Stolen Goods, Disturbing the Peace and a Deflated Pool

Saturday, July 7
Vehicle Hit at Whole Foods (3:35 p.m.) - Dedham Police responded to a report of a vehicle hit-and-run at Whole Foods Market in Legacy Place. Upon arrival, police determined that a brown 2011 Chevy Malibu was unoccupied when it was struck by a vehicle parked next to it while pulling out of the parking lot. The vehicle had minor but noticeable damage on the driver's side corner, according to reports. Officers contacted Westwood police, as the vehicle was registered in that town, according to reports.
Woman Arrested for Disturbing the Peace (12:02 p.m.) - Dedham Police arrested an 18-year-old female from Brockton in the area of Elm Street for trespassing and disturbing the peace. Police responded to the area after receiving a report of trespassing, and found one female yelling int he hallway of a residence of that road.
Friday, July 6
Pot Grinder Confiscated (6:28 p.m.) - Police responded to the area of Paul Park on a report of three males parked on the side of the road and throwing trash into the street. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle with small trash on the ground next to the vehicle. Police approached the occupants of the vehicle and detected an odor of marijuana, and subsequently confiscated a small grinder with a small amount of marijuana in it.
Two Arrested for Shoplifting (5:21 p.m.) - Dedham Police arrested two females after responding to Dedham Plaza on a report of larceny. After speaking with witnesses in the area, one of the two reported females appeared to be pregnant, but upon closer look one witness claimed that the individual had a "huge bulge" sticking out below her stomach almost to her knees, according to reports. Witnesses told police that the individual had removed a large amount of clothing she had stuffed into her dress while approaching a red Ford Explorer. Police later located the vehicle on Whiting Avenue, and subsequently arrested a 53-year-old woman from Ruskin, Florida and a 51-year-old woman from Mattapan on charges of larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property over $250.
Melrose Man Arrested (7:01 p.m.) - Police arrested a 45-year-old man from Melrose in the area of Allied Drive for assault and battery and driving with a suspended license.
Wednesday, July 4
Inflatable Pool Popped (5:09 p.m.) - Police responded to a report of an inflatable swimming pool that was allegedly deflated and water from the pool had poured onto the yard of a residence. Police determined that the pool was deflated by a large slice which appeared to have been made by a knife or sharp object. The resident of the home apparently spotted three males by the pool when he looked outside and found it deflated. One of the males reportedly held a silver knife about three inches long, according to reports.
