Dedham Police Log: Shoplifting on Providence Highway, Break-in Attempt and More
The following information was provided by the Dedham Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.
Monday, Jan. 28
(10:27 p.m.) According to police reports, a resident reported that his front tire was slashed at the corner of Oak and Curve Street. The owner reported that it wasn't driven for a few days, so it must have occurred between Jan. 24 and Jan. 28.
Tuesday, Jan. 29
(3:11 p.m.) Dedham Police received a call that a shoplifter was being detained at a store on Providence Highway. Loss Prevention officers told police that they observed the suspect conceal ear bud headphones. He was placed under arrest.
Friday, Feb. 1
(1:32 a.m.) Police were dispatched to Veterans Road for a suspicious person attempting to open a window, according to reports. When police arrived, the caller informed them that she observed a young white male trying to open a window. He was wearing dark pants and a black hooded jacket with two yellow strips running the length of both sleeves. The State Police K-9 unit also responded and searched the area but was met with negative results.
Saturday, Feb. 2
(8:02 p.m.) Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at Legacy Place. The two women in question were in the store three times that day, but during the third visit the manager witnessed one of the women place an item (valued at $14.95) in her bag. The women then proceeded to the tip jar at the front counter and took out a $5 bill and placed it in her pocket. When police did a search, they discovered that her name was Lana Kredenser and had a default warrant out of Dedham District Court. She was placed under arrest.
