Dedham Police are investigating a shooting in the area of River Street and Whiting Avenue Tuesday night. 

A victim of the incident had been in a motor vehicle traveling on River Street, when another vehicle crossed the double-yellow lines and pulled up next to the victim's vehicle, firing several rounds, according to a statement from Dedham Police Wednesday morning. 

"The victim sustained only minor injuries and could only describe the suspect’s vehicle as a white sports car possibly a Mitsubishi that continued up River Street towards Oakdale Square," Dedham Police said in a statement, adding that the matter appears to be an isolated incident.
