Dedham Parks & Recreation Held First Youth Flag Football Game

The program was created by Jason Mammone, and Carmen DelloIacono through the Department of Parks and Recreation.

Dedham Parks & Recreation held its first ever Youth Flag Football games over the weekend at Riverdale School.

The program includes children who are between the ages of 5 and 7 years old.

According to Jason Mammone, one of the creators of the program, the sport "is all about teaching the basics of football."

There are close to 40 kids participating in the sport, and there are a total of 4 teams (Black, White, Maroon and Gray).

On Saturday the Black Team won over the White Team 39-31. And the Gray Team won over the Maroon Team in a "nail-biting" 28-27 victory.

The program was created by Jason Mammone, and Carmen DelloIacono through the Department of Parks and Recreation.

"We are very proud of the kids giving their all," Mammone says.
