Does it really kill this town to acknowledge Christmas. They are Christmas trees, they are Christmas ornaments. Is that really difficult. It's not even about going against political correctness it's plain and simple common sense. I can understand calling it the Holiday Stroll, it takes place between Thanks Giving and Christmas, but come on.

Check out Leviticus 25:8-13 for reference to the Jubilee. Increasingly, Jubilee celebrations are being used not for the biblical purpose of forgiveness of debts but as a way for those with means to provide to those with little means. In other words, there's a positive and biblical link between the word "jubilee" and the Food Pantry's purpose. Part of the positive spirit of the holiday season. Like the "Giving Tree" for children's gifts at St. Susanna's.

Whoa, whoa Fred, there's a War On Christmas© and you should get angry every time someone wishes you Happy Holidays. Do not tolerate anything less than full acknowledgement of the Christian tradition in every interaction or this once great nation will slide further into the abyss of godless liberal humanism.

The reason that it is called the Dedham Tree Jubilee is because we were trying to think of a catchy phrase with some rhyme and rhythm and that is what we decided on. It has nothing to do with this so-called "war on Christmas". It is meant to bring some more enjoyment to those who come down to the square for the Holiday Stroll and to raise funds for a much needed service provided by the Food Pantry.

Personally, I would enjoy it more if it was called a Christmas tree. After all, if Christ had not been born, we wouldn't even have a need for a tree. Sorry, I hate people using Christ's birthday as a money maker or a reason for a "catchy phrase."

If you "hate people using Christ's birthday as a money maker" you should probably look for other living arrangements that are not in America.

The money we make from this event will be going to the Dedham Food Pantry. Somehow I don't think Christ would be upset with that, after all didn't he instruct us to care for one another? He probably wouldn't be bothered by the name of the fundraiser either.

Just don't have anyone there magically multiplying loaves of bread and fishes, JC has that trademarked.

In the interweb no good deed ever goes uncriticized.

St. Susanna's church calls their tree used to gather Christmas gifts for the poor the "Giving Tree."

In the spirit of the Christmas season please support these acts of charity and celebration.

Nothing expresses the true spirit of Christianity like some angry old dude who gives a verbal thrashing to a store clerk for having the audacity to say "Happy Holidays."

Speaking of Christ, Christmas and the Bible. How come I have'nt see the Messiah's face plastered all over The Patch lately? Did they just shill for him during the election?
What a nauseating sellout.

Ha ha, Plan on leaving your mom's basement anytime soon? Your Obama 99 week unemployment extension gotta be running out by now. I did see an employment sign in Papa Ginos window. Can you roll dough and watch all your silly tv shows at the same time?

It's really kind of amazing how the political trolls will look for any excuse to say the same exact things, over and over, with no humor, irony, or purpose other to convince themselves that they are relevant and the rest of the world will listen.
