According to The National Weather Service, the Blizzard of 2013 left Dedham with 22 inches of snow. And the town is unsure about the time frame for cleanup.

"It's difficult to predict at this time," Town Administrator Bill Keegan said.  "Our crews are trying to remove a lot if snow now because there is no place to put it."

Residents were expressing their frustrations on Facebook and Twitter because there are still some hazardous driving conditions like Washington Street, near Dedham Square.

"Folks will have to be patient as everyone does the best they can," he said.

In the meantime, plow trucks are still circling the town to clear as much of the snow as possible.  But how to dispose of the snow will remain to be the big issue. Some are hoping that the rain on Monday will help.

But Keegan was happy to see how quickly NSTAR was able to respond to the power outages.

"Dedham's power situation is in great shape compared to many communities," Keegan said.

During the blizzard, about 300 homes lost power.  As of 5:00 a.m. on Monday that number was brought down to 14.

I agree about Nstar, They were terrific. Here's a thought though, call Norwood, Westwood and Mumbles Menino, ask them how they got there streets to pavement. Learn something for future storms. Nobody's perfect, I support the workers, I know plows were out. Why not dump the snow at Memorial like we do with every storm. I simply didn't think planning was good. This is not a knock on anyone working the storm.

There is a bunch of land in Dedham that could be made into snow farms. Let's be creative and use some of the unused playing fields, the old Strier property, the back of the Endicott Estate, etc.

Snow Farms: Dumping the snow on play fields, grass, would ruin them beyond repair: Front loaders, heavy machinery, dump trucks would create a gigantic mud field. Furthermore, the snow removed from street contains pollutants, oils, etc, If you include the salt used to melt, you have a perfect recipe for a long lasting disaster.

They dump the snow in the parking lot at the baseball fields not directly on the fields. Of course you can't dump snow from the streets on a ball field. This year they are utilizing the lot not used for homes that was purchased from St. Mary's which actually showed some sense. I was impressed that the town actually thought to do that.
