5 Things to Do This Weekend: Sept. 9-11

Enjoy a town-wide BBQ as Dedham celebrates its 375th anniversary.

 

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Dedham Patch is coming to the rescue.

  1. Dedham 375 BBQ
    When/Where:
    Saturday, 12 to 5 p.m. at the Endicott Estate
    Why go? Enjoy plenty of food, drinks for all ages and games for everyone as the town celebrates its 375th anniversary. And stop by the Dedham Patch table for some free Patch stuff!
    Pricing: Free for Dedham residents, but you need to grab a 375 button from either Town Hall or one of the public libraries.
  2. Dedham Football Opens 2011 Season
    When/Where:
    Saturday, 11 a.m. at Sharon High School (note game time change)
    Why go? Under new coach Dave Flynn, the DHS football team starts out this season with two road games before returning home on Sept. 23. It is a great chance to see the Marauders in action without having to wait.
  3. Dedham Square Country Store
    When/Where: Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the store on High Street
    Why go? With a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables grown locally, stopping by on Sundays should make a difference when whipping up a recipe.
    Pricing: Depending what you fit into your reusable bag.
  4. Readville Fest
    When/Where:
    Sunday, 11 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boston/Dedham Business Park on Sprague Street (make-up date from Sun., Aug. 28)
    Why go: Lots of great food vendors, chances to try out the indoor trampoline park and find other hidden gems inside the business park.
    Pricing: Free
  5. Dedham School of Music Open House
    When/Where: Sunday at 11 a.m. at the school's building on High Street
    Why go? Get a tour and the rundown of what the school offers your child. They may just find their next musical love!
    Pricing: Free
