5 Things To Do This Weekend: Nov. 4-6

Dedham football plays at new stadium for the first time and Community House opens for a fall fair.

 

It's Thursday, and you've got no idea what you'll do for the weekend. Dedham Patch is coming to the rescue.

 

  1. DHS Athletic Complex Grand Opening
    Where/When:
    Dedham High School; Friday, 5 p.m. for lights ceremony; 7 p.m. game.
    Why go:
    Two months after it was originally scheduled, the Dedham football team will finally kick-off at home for the first time since November 2009. The school will honor donors to the field lights prior to the game. If you haven't been to the new field yet, this is a great opportunity to see the $3 million-plus facility.
    Pricing:
    $5 admission to game/$3 for students

  2. Veterans Day Service
    Where/When:
    St. Luke's Church; Sunday, 10:30 a.m.
    Why go:
    Honor local military servicemembers in this annual service event.
    Pricing: Free

  3. Dedham Community House Fall Fair
    Where/When:
    Dedham Community House; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Why go: Check out the latest DCH fall programs and what they have to offer. Also enjoy fun games, refreshments, prizes and more at the fair!
    Pricing: Free

  4. John Plunkett at Village Manor
    Where/When:
    The Village Manor; Saturday evening
    Why go: Enjoy some live tunes by John Plunkett from yesterday and today.
    Pricing: Just the cost of a drink or two.

  5. Book Signing with William Martin
    Where/When: Nest; Friday, 6:30 p.m.
    Why go: Meet historical fiction author William Martin and benefit the Dedham Library Innovation Team at the same time. Martin will be discussing his three books, as well as signing copies.
    Pricing: $10 (suggested donation)
