5 Ways to Volunteer Your Time This Holiday Season

Want to give back to the community? There are plenty of ways to help out.

 

It's the season of giving - and not just gifts.

We found a few organizations in Dedham looking for you to help out by donating some of your time, but if you know of others, add them to the comment section below.

  • Dedham Food Pantry
    When: Saturdays, 8-11 a.m.
    Helping clients shop and navigate the store.

  • Dedham Food Pantry
    When: Saturday mornings
    Picking up donations from various locations, including Showcase Cinema.

  • 4C's for Kids Fund Christmas Smiles Toy Drive
    When: Sunday, Dec. 4
    They need help with set up at 10 a.m., and people to help serve coffee and hot chocolate from 1-5 p.m.

  • Meals on Wheels Drivers
    When:
    One hour on weekdays, between 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.
    Homebound seniors need you to deliver nutritious meals to them. Drive around town for an hour and meet some great seniors.

  • American Red Cross 
    When:
    Various (see here for details)
    Volunteer a bit of time and donate blood. Each donor receives a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert at a participating Chili's restaurant.
