Well the election results are in and the sixth grade class at Dedham Middle School has chosen their Student Council representatives.
Principal Debra Gately scheduled the first meeting of the new Student Council, and under the guidance
and leadership of DMS reading teacher Sue Lyons and English teacher Andrew Patterson, the 22 students
elected from the 200-plus students set out on their agenda.
Ms. Lyons informed them of the importance of their job at school and of the work in front of them. These
students are held to a high standard while representing their classmates and working together to better
the middle school and the community of Dedham.
Many fundraisers and charitable events are planned and word has come out of a proposed Halloween
dance at the school. Good luck and best wishes to all!
